The climate of Camden (New Jersey
- United States of America)
Camden is located in the western part of the state of New Jersey on
the banks of the Delaware River which forms the natural border with
the state of Pennsylvania. Across the Delaware River the city of
Philadelphia is located. Camden was founded in the 17th century when
Fort Nassau was built here by the Dutch West India Company. The city
flourished at the end of the 19th century during the Industrial
Revolution. Because of its location on the Delaware River which flows
into the Atlantic Ocean the city is an important port. Camden has a
wet continental climate slightly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean.
Camden has four distinct seasons and precipitation is quite evenly
spread out over the year. Summers may be very warm and may get muggy
because of high humidity figures. During the winter most precipitation
falls in the form of snow. Winters may be very cold. During some
months temperatures hardly rise above freezing point.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
