The climate of Paterson (New Jersey
- United States of America)
Paterson is located in the northern part of the state of New Jersey in
the vicinity of the border with the state of New York. Paterson is the
third largest city in New Jersey. The Passaic River flows through the
city, many large waterfalls can be found in the river. These
waterfalls are among the biggest in the United States and have been a
preservation site since 2009. A striking detail is the great variety
of nationalities that live in the city. More than half of its
population consists of Hispanics and Latinos.
Just like the largest part of New England Paterson has a wet
continental climate with four distinct seasons. Precipitation is quite
evenly spread out over the year. During the winter precipitation may
fall in the form of snow. However, the amount of snow that falls
varies every winter. Summers are pleasant without getting too hot,
this is mainly caused by the influence of the Atlantic Ocean.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
