The climate of Trenton (New Jersey - United States of America)
Trenton is located in the western part of the state of New Jersey of which it also is the capital. Trenton is located in the vicinity of the Delaware River which forms the natural border with the state of Pennsylvania. Several bridges connect the city with the city of Morrisville which is located across the river. The Rider University can be found in the city. This is a very exclusive and selective university. The New Jersey state prison can also be found here; this is a maximum security prison.
Trenton has a moderate wet continental climate according to the Köppen climate classification with characteristics of a maritime climate because of the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. Trenton has four distinct season and precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year. Extremes in weather are uncommon. The coldest temperature on record is -25.6 degrees Celsius. On average Trenton gets about 1,200 millimeters of annual precipitation. During the winter snowfall is not uncommon. However, the amount of snow that falls varies every winter. On average Trenton gets about 600 millimeters of annual snowfall.
