The climate of Roswell (New Mexico - United States of America)
Roswell is a medium sized city located in the southeastern part of the state of New Mexico. Roswell is located on the banks of the Pecos River in Chaves County. Roswell became world famous when according to rumors an extraterrestrial spacecraft crashed here in 1947, better known as the Roswell UFO incident. Many conspiracy theories are known about this incident. The authorities made contradicting statements which only enhanced conspiracy theories. The only certain thing is that the incident has been in favor of Roswell. Every year many tourists travel to the ‘Alien Capital of the World’.
Roswell has a cold steppe climate with low precipitation figures all year round. Winters may be cold with longer periods with subzero temperatures (during the night). However, winters here are not as cold as in the more northerly located cities in New Mexico. During the summer temperatures may rise. Temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) are not uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
