The climate of Tulsa (Oklahoma - United States of America)
Tulsa is located in the state of Oklahoma. Tulsa is the second largest city in the state after Oklahoma City. Where the economy is concerned Tulsa is an important city, mainly because of the presence of oil. Tulsa is one of the most important oil cities in the world. Many large companies have their headquarters in Tulsa such as American Airlines, SABRE and several international car rental companies. Tulsa has a warm maritime climate (type Cfa according to the Köppen climate classification). Winters are fairly mild, summers are warm to hot and spring and fall are very erratic. During the summer temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) are not uncommon. If you travel to Tulsa you should bear in mind that large deviations in average climate figures are not uncommon. During the winter it may be extremely cold during one week while the next week temperatures are well above freezing point. During spring and early summer heavy thunderstorms are not uncommon. When this occurs precipitation figures may be very high and extremely large hail stones may fall. Tulsa is located in an area with a risk of tornadoes. Although these storms are not as destructive as hurricanes they may be more dangerous because of their unpredictability.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
