The climate of Appleton (Wisconsin
- United States of America)
Appleton is located in the eastern part of the state of Wisconsin on
the banks of the Fox River. The city is located in Outagamie, Calumet
and Winnebago Counties. The city was founded during the second part of
the 19th century. During this period it played an important role in
the paper industry. Nowadays, the banking industry is the main source
of income. Appleton has always been a progressive city. In Wisconsin,
it was one of the ten first cities with electrical street lighting and
the first city with telephony.
Appleton has a moderate continental climate. during the winter longer
periods with subzero temperatures are not uncommon. During this period
precipitation mainly falls in the form of sleet or snow. Summers are
pleasantly warm and sunny.
