The climate of Jackson (Wyoming
- United States of America)
Jackson is a small city located in the western part of the state of
Wyoming in the Rocky Mountains. Jackson is located in Teton County in
Jackson Hole Valley at an altitude of 1,900 meters. Just outside the
city Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and National
Elk Refuge are situated. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is one of the
most popular winter sports regions in the United States. This winter
sports region has 14 lifts and has a surface area of more than 10
square kilometers.
Jackson has a cold steppe climate strongly influenced by its location
at a high altitude. In comparison to the winter sports region
temperatures in Jackson are warm. On the higher situated pistes it may
be very cold, temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees
Fahrenheit) are not uncommon. Summers in Jackson are pleasantly warm.
However, nights may still be cold. Subzero temperatures during the
night may occur all year round.
