The climate of Laramie (Wyoming
- United States of America)
Laramie is located in the southeastern part of the state of the state
of Wyoming in Albany County on the banks of the Laramie River in the
Laramie Mountains. The city was named after a French trapper who
disappeared in this region. The University of Wyoming is situated in
Laramie. The city is located at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters,
because of this the city is very popular among skiers, snowmobilers,
mountain bikers, hunters, anglers and hikers.
Laramie has a cold steppe climate influenced by the altitude at which
the city is located. Because of this temperatures during the night are
low all year round. During the winter longer periods with subzero
temperatures (during the night) are not uncommon. Average annual
precipitation figures are low. Most precipitation can be recorded
during early winter.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
