The climate of Mongu (Zambia)
Mongu is located in the western part of Zambia in the vicinity of the Zambezi Rover in the Western province. This region is the poorest region in Zambia. The region offers little entertainment for tourists besides the fact that it is ideal for stocking up and you can withdraw money at the local bank. During the rainy period the region gets flooded quite often.
Mongu has a tropical steppe climate. Temperatures are slightly higher here than in the more northerly situated regions. The rainy period is during the local summer and lasts for about 5 months. Nights are not as cold here as in the rest of the country.
