The climate of Durrės (Albania)
Durrės is an important port on the Mediterranean Sea. There are ferry services between the city and Italy and there is an extensive rail network to the interior. The city used to be part of the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire. This part of history can still be found in the old Amphitheatre and the many archaeological museums. Durrės has a Mediterranean climate which can be compared to Greece’s climate. Summers are pleasantly warm and dry. Most of the rain falls during spring and autumn with a peak in November and December. Winters are mild and subzero temperatures are uncommon.
