The climate of Gweta (Botswana)
Gweta is located in the north-eastern part of Botswana not far from
the Makgadikgadi salt pans. These pans are the largest in the world
and cover an area of 16,000 square kilometers. In the village itself
only a shop and a gas station can be found. Just outside the village a
tourist spot can be found where you can spend the night in a
traditional rondavel, an African-style hut. Gweta has a warm steppe
climate with many warm and hot days and cold nights. During the night
temperatures may drop to freezing point. There is not much annual
precipitation. The rain that does fall mostly falls during summer.
