The climate of Tabatinga (Brazil)
Tabatinga is a small city in the north west of Brazil in the middle of the Amazon situated in the federal state of Tres Fronteras. Tabatinga is situated on the border with Peru and Colombia. The Columbian city Letica is in the vicinity as well as the Peruvian city of Santa Rosa. This causes crime to thrive; the mafia has a lot of influence in the city. Most of the tourists that travel here visit the rainforest or use the city as a starting point to explore the Amazon River by boat. One of the most beautiful sights in the vicinity is the Isla de los Micros where you can spot a number of monkey species in their original habitat. Tabatinga has a tropical rainforest climate without a distinct dry season. Heavy rainfall can be expected all year round with a peak during the local summer. Brazilian winters are mild with temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius on average. In combination with high humidity figures this may cause things to feel muggy.
