The climate of Whitehorse (Canada)
Whitehorse is the capital of Yukon. The city attracts many tourists because of the National Parks and the overwhelmingly rugged landscape here. Whitehorse has a subarctic climate with relatively little precipitation. Whitehorse gets about 145 centimeters of snow and 163 millimeters of rain per year on average. The mountain ranges on the coast prevent rain clouds from reaching Whitehorse. There are large differences in temperature between summer and winter. During the summer temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius are not uncommon. During the winter temperatures are -20 degrees on average.
