The climate of Fomboni (Comoros)
Fomboni is the capital of the Isle of Mohéli, which is the smallest and thinnest populated of the archipelago. Fomboni is the fourth biggest town of the archipelago and has approximately 15,000 inhabitants. The town in itself has not so much to offer. There is a market-place and a pier into the sea. Most tourists that come here travel farther inland and to the small bays to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Fomboni has a tropical monsoon climate. This climate is characterized by its agreeable temperatures and the precipitation which is divided in distinct periods. Most \precipitation falls here in the first months of the year. But do not be mistaken; during the drier season on an average still more than 60 mm. of rain falls here per month. The temperature here is very pleasant throughout the year and a few degrees warmer than in the other islands.
