The climate of Santa Clara (Cuba)
Santa Clara is a city located in the northern part of Cuba at the foot of the Sierra del Escambray mountain range. This city is also described as ‘Ché’s (Guevarra) city. Ché had a spectacular victory during the revolution here. The city’s mausoleum attracts many visitors each year. Besides this silent area the city has several beautiful parks where you can walk very pleasantly. Because of its location at the foot of a mountain range the city has a central function in the region. Santa Clara also has a university. Santa Clara has a savannah climate which is strongly influenced by the sea. During the summer months temperatures are moderated by the sea. During the months from August till October hurricanes may occur. Santa Clara has no distinct seasons. However, there is a rainy season and a dry season. During the late afternoon heavy rains are not uncommon. Fortunately, rain passes very quickly.
