The climate of Westpunt (Curaçao)
Westpunt is a small village located in the northwestern part of Curacao. Not many tourists visit this region. This is also why the locals come here. Most of them stay in one of the holiday villas that can be found here. Because Westpunt has a pebble beach the water is very clear here. Local fishers dock their boats here and sell fish from the beach, it doesn’t get much fresher than this. Around the village several plantations can be found. Just like the rest of Curaçao and the Leeward Islands Westpunt has a tropical savannah climate characterized by a wet and a dry period. The second part of the year is much wetter, humidity figures are higher then as well. During this period there is a small risk of tropical storms and hurricanes. Temperatures are constant all year round and there is only little difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
