The climate of Jutland (Denmark)
Jutland is a peninsula located in the northern part of Europe. The
peninsula is surrounded by the North Sea, the Skaggerak, the
Katttegat and the Baltic Sea. The northern part of Jutland is part
of Denmark; the southern part is part of Germany. The southern part
has always been a conflict region between Germany and Denmark and
changed ownership several times. The last of which took place after
WWI when the German region became part of Denmark. Among the largest
cities of Jutland are Aalborg, Arhus, Esbjerg, Kiel, Randers,
Kolding and Vejle. Jutland has a moderate maritime climate strongly
influenced by its surrounding seas. Because of this extremes in
weather are uncommon. In general, it is slightly colder in the
northern part of the peninsula than in the southern part of the
peninsula. Because of the absence of mountains winds can blow freely
and may be fierce. Precipitation figures are highest during the
winter. During the coldest days of the year precipitation falls in
the form or snow or sleet.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
