The climate of Bahia Maimon (Dominican Republic)
Bahia Maimon is a small resort in the Puerto Plata province in the Dominican Republic. A Maimon is a natural reserve which is labeled as such by the government. Usually because of specific plant and animal life in the area, but it may also refer to of caves or ruins. Bahia Maimon is a popular destination because of the presence of three luxurious hotels and two beautiful beaches. The beaches attract many water sports enthusiasts. In the vicinity of Bahia Maimon you can swim with dolphins. Puerto Plata is about 10 kilometers away.
Bahia Mainmon has a tropical savannah climate. This means summers are relatively dry and hot with high humidity figures. During the summer temperatures are above 30 degrees Celsius on average. Winters have pleasant temperatures but are very wet. The winter is the best period to visit Bahia Maimon. Bear in mind that hurricanes frequently pass through this area during the end of summer.
