The climate of Lille (France)
Lille is a university town in the north-west of France. Many people know the town by name from their passage to the south of France. Lille has a reputation of being a really grey industrial town. However nothing could be less true. Who looks through the grey outside finds splendid 18th century streets in a very atmospheric centre. Lille is highly recommended for a city-tour. The temperature is very moderate almost the whole year through. In the winter is does not really get terribly cold. But in the north of France it can rain regularly just as it does in Holland. Also as for the temperature the weather resembles ours very much. Because there is a greater chance of atmospherics with temperatures around freezing-point there is even slightly more chance of snow in the winter months despite the fact that Lille is situated somewhat more southward than Holland.
