The climate of Orléans (France)
Orléans, named after the Roman emperor Aurelianus, is situated at a distance of 160 km from Paris, in the middle of France. The town owes its reputation among other things to Joan of Arc who helped liberate the town from the yoke of the English. A statue of her still decorates the central square in Orléans. Orléans has a moderate climate, its situation more land inward results in less influence from the sea. However at this altitude in France it is very moderate as far as temperature is concerned. In the winter it hardly ever freezes there and the temperatures in the summer are approximately about 22 degrees.
