The climate of Lübeck (Germany)
Lübeck is an old Hanseatic city located in the northern part of Germany. The city is located in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein on the banks of the Trave River and has a rich history. The city attracts many tourists. Because of the narrow streets and old buildings the city has a real medieval atmosphere. The old city gates have been well preserved. Several museums are situated in the city in which you can learn all about its history. Lübeck also attracts people who have a sweet tooth; the city is known for its tasty marzipan which has been produced here since medieval times. Lübeck has a moderate maritime climate characterized by small differences in temperatures between summer and winter. Winters are mild with subzero temperatures only during a few days. Precipitation figures are highest during spring and fall. During the summer a warm wind may blow which causes temperatures to rise. On extremely hot days temperatures may rise up to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
