The climate of Mosel (Germany)
The Mosel is a very famous holiday destination among the Dutch. Cruise ships sail from the city of Arnhem to this region on a daily basis. A trip by car to this region is also an attractive option. The Mosel region is characterized by the river and the high and steep slopes on the banks. These steep slopes are ideal for winegrowing. There is always a Weinfest going on somewhere in the region. Many vineyards along the river provide wine tasting facilities. A bicycle path runs along the river. This is an ideal way to explore the region, especially when you are going to taste the wines. There are many picturesque villages with timber frame houses in the region. The café´s in these villages have terraces where you can enjoy Kaffee mit Kuchen (Coffee with cake). The Mosel region has a moderate maritime climate. This climate type is very favorable to all kinds of vegetation. During the winter subzero temperatures are uncommon. During the summer temperatures are around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit). Extremely high or low temperatures can only be recorded when an easterly wind blows. When this occurs sudden changes in temperatures are not uncommon.
