The climate of Lefkada (Greece)
Lefkada is a Greek island which is part of the
Eptanisa islands. Lefkada is situated in the Ionian Sea not far from
the islands of Kefalonia, Ithaka and Meganisi. Somewhat further to the
north the island of Korfoe is situated. The capital of Lefkada is in
the northern part of the island. A bridge connects the island to
mainland Greece. In the vicinity of the capital several snow white
beaches can be found. The island is named after these white beaches.
Lefkada has a warm Mediterranean climate influenced by the Ionian Sea.
Summers are warm, sometimes even hot. During the summer there is
little precipitation. Winters are cold but pleasant, really cold days
are uncommon. However, temperatures are too low to make the island
suitable as a winter sun destination.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
