The climate of Myrtos on the island of Crete (Greece)
Myrtos is located on the south coast of Crete, west of the
city of Ierapetra. Because the city is in the south of Crete it
attracts far fewer tourists than the cities in the north. During the
summer you can visit several restaurants. However, these restaurants
are all closed during off season. From here you can make an excursion
to the uninhabited island of Chrissie. Myrtos has a warm Mediterranean
climate influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. During the winter
precipitation falls in the form of rain. During spring it gets much
drier. During the summer Myrtos is warm and dry. Little rain falls
during the summer and the sun shines exuberantly. From May till
September the guaranteed sunshine figure is very high.
