The climate of Srinagar (India)
Srinagar lies in Kashmir valley on the riverYelum . The town is known for its boathouses, the wooden mosque Dargah Dastageer Sahab and the beautiful gardens of Mughul. The handicraft from this region is world famous. Until far into the eighties this was also a frequently visited touristic destination.The political commotion of recent years however was the cause that Srinagar was avoided for years. In the last few years it has been more quiet there and also the number of tourists is increasing again.
The climate in Srinagar is a warm China climate. This climate is characterized by more humid summers and dry winters. However due to its situation the amount of precipitation is not very large at all. With temperatures that can differ considerably in the summer and winter. In the summermonths it can be suffocatingly hot and in the wintermonths periods of frost are not impossible.
