The climate of Luang Prabang (Laos)
Luang Prabang or Louangphrabang is located in the central northern part of Laos. The city is located on a junction where the Nam Khan River and the Mekong River flow into each other. Because of the unique buildings in the city Luang Prabang is a Unesco preservation site. Several old temples have been well preserved and the Royal Palace is a very unique site. Outside the city beautiful waterfalls, unique caves and a beautiful scenery can be enjoyed. Luang Prabang has a tropical savannah climate with a dry and a wet period. Most rain falls from May till September. However, during the rest of the year showers are not uncommon. It is warm here all year round with several peaks in temperatures during the rainy period.
