The climate of Maroantsetra (Madagascar)
Maroantsetra is a small coastal town located in the northwestern part of Madagascar in the province of Analanjirofo. The best way to reach the city is by air because there are no proper roads to the city. Most tourists that travel here come to go diving in the lagoons and coral reefs to see the treasures of the underwater world. From the beach you can spot humpback whales. Maroantsetra is often used as a starting point to travel to one of the smaller islands that can be found off the coast. Just like most of the cities on the east coast Maroantsetra has a tropical rainforest climate characterized by high precipitation figures almost all year round. Only in September and October precipitation figures are slightly lower. Temperatures are pleasantly warm all year round; 25-30 degrees Celsius. There is a risk of tropical storms and hurricanes.
