The climate of Chetumal (Mexico)
Chetumal is a medium-sized city located in the eastern part of Mexico at the mouth of the Rio Hondo River which forms the border with the neighboring country of Belize. The Costa Maya tourist region starts here and attracts many tourists from Belize because of the many casinos and because prices are lower here. Chetumal has a tropical climate with many rain clouds that dissolve rapidly. The sun shines on almost all days of the year. Chetumal has a rainy period from the beginning of June till the second part of October with a peak in July. During the winter there may be large differences in daytime and night time temperatures. The largest attractions of the city are the zoo and the government palace.
