The climate of Almelo (the Netherlands)
Almelo is a medium sized town located in the Twente region in the
Overijssel province. Almelo is located in the Almelo municipality.
Other villages in this municipality are: Aadorp, Bornerbroek and
Mariaparochie. The town was founded in the 13th century and was
granted town privileges in the 15th century. The city was founded
around the Almelo estate which can still be admired. The soccer club
Heracles Almelo play their home matches in Almelo. Almelo has a
moderate maritime climate influenced by the North Sea and a warm Gulf
Stream. Winters are cold with temperatures around freezing point.
Summers are pleasantly warm with temperatures around 20 degrees
Celsius. During spring and autumn temperatures are 13-14 degrees
Celsius on average. Precipitation is evenly spread out over the year.
