The climate of Burgh-Haamstede (the Netherlands)
Burgh-Haamstede is a small community located on the island of
Schouwen-Duiveland in the Zealand province on the North Sea consisting
of the villages of Burgh and Haamstede. Burgh-Haamstede is a popular
beach destination in the Netherlands. About 17 kilometers of beach can
be enjoyed here, several hundreds of meters wide in some places. Just
outside the village several holiday resorts can be found. From the
beaches you have a nice view of the Oosterscheldekering (Eastern
Scheldt storm surge barrier). Burgh-Haamstede has a moderate maritime
climate influenced by the North Sea and the Warm Gulf Stream. During
the summer temperatures are just above 20 degrees Celsius on average.
When a wind from the sea blows things may feel a bit colder. This wind
also causes rain to move further into the interior.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
