The climate of Domburg (the Netherlands)
Domburg is a cosy coastal town in Zeeland. Domburg had a beautiful
wide beach that attracts many tourists every year. Domburg’s
surroundings are very beautiful as well. In the vicinity of the beach
a unique oak tree forest can be found. This forest was planted to
protect Walcheren. Nowadays it is very nice to go for a walk there.
Domburg has a maritime climate strongly influenced by the sea. During
the summer temperatures are slightly lower here than in other places
in the Netherlands because of an ever blowing sea wind. On hot summer
days the beach attracts people seeking a cool refuge. Because the sea
is quite shallow here the water warms up more rapidly. This means the
temperature of the sea is slightly higher here than in other coastal
towns. During the autumn and winter there may be bleak winds. However,
rainclouds dissolve rapidly. Domburg is one of the driest places in
the Netherlands.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
