The climate of Kaatsheuvel (the Netherlands)
Kaatsheuvel is a village with a unique population. The Laaf People, fairies, dwarfs and even several dragons live here. Kaatsheuvel is best known for its amusement park ‘De Efteling’. This Dutch Disney Land was founded in the 1960s as a playground and grew out to a huge amusement park attraction millions of people to Kaatsheuvel every year. The park can best be visited in May, June or September. Temperatures are most pleasant then and chances of rain lowest. The Efteling during winter is very special as well. Bear in mind to wear gloves and a hat against the cold. For those that do not like amusement parks; the Loonse and Drunense Dunes are in the vicinity. This nature reserve is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The most difficult mountain bike course in the Netherlands is situated in these dunes as well.
