The climate of Oss (the Netherlands)
Oss is a medium-sized town in the north eastern part of the province
of North Brabant. The surroundings of Oss have been inhabited for
thousands of years. The first records of Oss date back to the 12th
century. In the 14th century Oss was granted town privileges. At the
end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century Oss was
terrorized by the ‘Gang of Oss’. In 1934 160 gang members were
arrested, most of them were given long prison sentences. Just outside
Oss the Vorstengraf can be found which is the largest tumulus in the
Netherlands. Oss has a moderate maritime climate influenced by the
North Sea and the warm Gulf Stream. Because the city is situated in
the interior these influences are smaller than in the more westerly
located places. However, the influence can still be noticed and cause
few differences in temperatures between the seasons. Precipitation is
evenly spread out over the year.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
