The climate of Staphorst (the Netherlands)
Staphorst is a village located in the municiapality of Staphorst in
the north western part of the province of Overijssel. The Staphorst
municipality includes the following villages and communities: Rouveen,
Ijhorst and Punthorst. Staphorst is known as one of the most religious
villages in the Netherlands. Sunday as a day of rest is strictly
observed. Bear in mind that most public places will be closed on
Sundays. A part of the village is a conservation area. Over the past
few years Staphorst has become more and more popular among tourists.
Staphorst has a moderate maritime climate influenced by the North Sea
and the warm Gulfstream. Winters are cold with temperatures around
freezing point. During the summer temperatures are just above 20
degrees Celsius on average. However, peaks of 30 degrees Celsius or
even higher are not uncommon. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out
over the year.
