The climate of Wassenaar (the Netherlands)
Wassenaar is a small municipality located in the western part of the
province of South Holland and is part of the Rotterdam-The Hague
metropolis region. Wassenaar consists of a center surrounded by
several suburbs. In one of these suburbs the Duinrell amusement park
is situated. One of the main attractions in this amusement park is the
subtropical Tikibad swimming paradise. Villa Eikenhorst, situated at
the De Horsten estate, is the residence of Crown Prince
Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima. Wassenaar has a moderate
maritime climate influenced by the warm Gulf Stream. Summers are
pleasantly warm with temperatures just above 20 degrees Celsius.
During the winter daytime temperatures are just above freezing point.
Longer periods with subzero temperatures (during the night) are not
uncommon. Precipitation is evenly spread out over the year.
