The climate of West Brabant (the Netherlands)
West Brabant is a part of the province of North Brabant. Several
charming cities such as Breda, Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal are
located in this area. The scenery in North Brabant is beautiful.
Cycling and hiking enthusiasts can enjoy the scenery in the Biesbosch
or the Old Buische Heide. West Brabant is centrally situated between
the two major ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp; this is also why the
area is experiencing increased development. West Brabant has a
maritime climate. Rainclouds from the North Sea are often driven by
hard winds; this is why West Brabant gets a lot of rain. This type of
climate is furthermore characterized by relatively mild winters and
cool summers. Because of the influence of the sea the difference
between summer and winter is smaller than in the places with a
continental climate.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
