The climate of Chorzów (Poland)
Chorzów is located in the southern part of Poland in the Silezia province. Chorzów is situated in a hilly area with several hills surrounding the city. These hills have an average altitude of 300 meters. These hills offer a nice view over the city. Chorzów is a very old city which was already mentioned during early medieval times. Because of this the city has a rich history; many monuments from different times can still be admired. Chorzów has a moderate continental climate with four distinct seasons. Chorzów and its surrounding areas have a relatively low precipitation figure. Winters are reasonably dry; when precipitation does fall it is usually in the form of snow. Summers are pleasant without getting too warm. However, extremes may occur. During the summer temperatures are 20 degrees Celsius on average. Winters are very cold. During some periods temperatures will not rise above freezing point. Autumn is the most beautiful season.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
