The climate of Angra Do Heroismo (Portugal)
Angra Do Heroismo is a city and a municipality on the island of Terceira which is part of the autonomous region of the Azores. The historic center of Angra do Heroismo is a Unesco world heritage site, mainly because of the military fortresses that can be found in the center of the city. Besides these old fortresses many beautiful old buildings can be found here such as the Sé Cathedral. The only wine museum in the Azores can also be found in Angro do Heroismo.
Angra do Heroismo has a warm maritime climate strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Because of this influence extremes in weather are uncommon in Angro do Heroismo and on the entire island of Terceira. Most precipitation falls during the winter. However, longer periods of drought are uncommon. The difference in average daytime temperatures between summer and winter is only 9 degrees Celsius.
