The climate of Faro (Portugal)
Faro is the capital of the Algarve province. Most tourists arrive here at the airport and travel further to the large holiday resorts. This is a shame because Faro is a fairly authentic Portuguese place in contradiction to the large holiday resorts. Many foreigners have settled here over the past few years. The city itself is surrounded by an old city wall, the Arco da Villa is the most beautiful part.
Faro has a Mediterranean climate. in general, the weather is mild. Faro is an excellent sun destination all year round. Please, bear in mind that heavy showers are not uncommon. These showers are often short lived and offer a pleasant cooling, especially during the summer. Because of the absence of a sea breeze temperatures may be a few degrees higher when you travel into the interior.
