The climate of Saint Pierre (Réunion)
Saint Pierre is a big town in the south-west of Réunion close to the
airport Pierrefonds. The town of Saint Pierre forms an agglomeration
with the town of Le Tampon. Saint Pierre lies in an area with numerous
lagoons and small bays which are all really equally beautiful. Also
the park Exotica lies in this place. Along the coast you can find here
plenty of restaurants and pubs. Every year in August the Sakifo
festival is held here. Saint Pierre has a tropical climate with
sunshine throughout the year. Therefore people here talk about the
everlasting summer. Due to its sheltered situation behind the
mountains there is less rainfall here than in the rest of Réunion. The
rainy period here is from November up to and including April. In this
period tropical storms may also occur here.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
