The climate of Abha (Saudi Arabia)
Abha is located in the southern part of Saudi Arabia in the vicinity
of the border with Yemen. Abha is located in a hilly area in the
province of Asir. Because the city is situated at a higher altitude
the climate is milder than in the rest of the country. This is also
why Abha is a popular tourist destination for the local population.
Several cable ways can be found here offering a spectacular view. You
can also enjoy these beautiful views from a paraglider that take off
from a nearby hill. Abha is one of the few places in Saudi Arabia that
has a steppe climate instead of a desert climate. Summers are much
milder here than in the rest of the country; during the hottest part
of the day temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius. Winters are
pleasant with cold nights every now and then. Average precipitation
figures are much higher here than in the rest of the country causing
the surroundings to be much greener.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
