The climate of Nelspruit (South Africa)
Nelspruit is the industrial centre in this region. It has an airport. Most of the locally produced products are being processed here. Nelspruit makes for an ideal starting point to visit Krugerpark. This enormous National Reserve is known for its great variety in animal life including the Big Five. It has the largest elephant population in the world. Other animals such as the hyena, giraffe and the rhinoceros have made this their home as well. In addition there are 300 archaeological digs, which isn’t surprising since Africa is the cradle of humankind.
Nelspruit has a tropical savannah climate. This means temperatures will hardly ever go below 18 degrees Celsius. During the winter it hardly ever rains. During the summer this is a much wetter place with about 400 millimetres of rain each month. Because of high humidity figures this is not always a pleasant place to stay.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
