The climate of Mallorca (Balearic Islands / Spain)
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands. It is also the most popular island. Tourism on Mallorca started a long time ago. Because of this parts of the island consist of hotels and apartments, which has not been beneficial to its surroundings. Mallorca mainly attracts German and British tourists. Mallorca has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters. The climate on Mallorca is characterized by warm and sunny summers with many hours of sunshine. Winters are mild, subzero temperatures are uncommon. Precipitation figures are low. However, it does rain on a regular basis. If you like to spend your holiday in a sunny destination Mallorca is very suitable. The mountainous regions on Mallorca are much cooler, wetter and grayer than the rest of the island. Snow may fall on the highest peaks of the Sierra de Tramuntana which is situated in the northwestern part of the island.
