The climate of Cartagena (Spain)
Cartagena is an old port in the eastern part of Spain in the Murcia region. Many remains from its long history can be found in the center of the city. Remains from several eras can be found here. Among these remains are a Roman amphitheater and several buildings of Baroque and Neoclassicistic architecture. The beaches of the city are part of the Costa Cálida which is situated between the Costa Blanca and the Costa Almeria. Cartagena has a moderate Mediterranean climate strongly influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. Because of this influence extremes in weather are uncommon. During the summer average daytime temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees Fahrenheit). During the winter temperatures are around 15 degrees Celsius (59.0 degrees Fahrenheit). Precipitation figures are low, most rain falls during the winter.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
