The climate of Jaca (Spain)
Jaca is a small town located in the northern part of Spain in the vicinity of the border with France. The city is located in the Huesca province in the Aragón region. The city is situated in the Pyrenees and is known for its beautiful medieval buildings. The oldest Roman cathedral in Spain can be found here. The cathedral with its castle date back to the 16th century. During the winter a fair amount of winter sport enthusiasts travel here to enjoy the pistes of Astún and Candanchú. Jaca is situated in a place where the maritime climate changes into a moderate continental climate. Because of this extremes in weather occur sooner than in the coastal areas. During the summer average daytime temperatures are just below 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees Fahrenheit). During the winter daytime temperatures are just below 10 degrees Celsius (50.0 degrees Fahrenheit). During the night subzero temperatures are not uncommon. Precipitation is evenly spread out over the year.
