The climate of Malgrat de Mar (Spain)
Malgrat de Mar is a popular tourist seaside resort in the northeastern part of Spain in the Barcelona province in the Catalonia region. Malrat de Mar is officially situated on the Costa del Maresme of which Malgrat is the most northerly located city. Most information sources classify Malgrat as being a part of the Costa Brava which actually ends at Blanes. This is why we also choose to classify Malgrat de Mar as being a part of the Costa Brava. Malgrat de Mar and Pineda de Mar, which is located in the vicinity, both have a Mediterranean climate with warm and dry summers and mild winters in which precipitation figures are slightly higher. From June till August it is pleasantly warm and sunny during most days. However, rain and the occasional thunderstorm are not uncommon. During the winter daytime temperatures drop to 13-16 degrees Celsius (55.4-60.8 degrees Fahrenheit) with a small chance of wintry weather during the nights.
