The climate of Roquetas de Mar (Spain)
Roquetas de Mar is actually an urbanization or tourist area which was built in the vicinity of the provincial town of Roquetas Pueblo. The city is situated on the Costa Almeria in the southeastern part of Spain which is one of the driest areas in Europe. Only during late winter and early spring long lasting precipitation may occur. Roquetas is a seaside resort with several kilometers of sandy beaches. During the second part of June the temperature of the sea rises to 20 degrees Celsius (68.0 degrees Fahrenheit) and till October precipitation is uncommon. Roquetas gets many hours of sunshine and skies are often clear. Roquetas de Mar has a warm Mediterranean climate strongly influenced by the Mediterranean Sea.
