The climate of Arosa (Switzerland)
The village of Arosa is a ski resort located in the eastern part of
Switzerland. The village is located at an altitude of 1,742 meters in
a valley at the foot of Mount Weisshorn. Because the valley is
surrounded by mountains Arosa is situated in the leeward side which is
beneficial for temperatures. Arosa also gets a relatively high amount
of hours of sunshine per day which makes for pleasant winter sports
weather. Almost all of the skiing tracks are located above the tree
line so chances of snow are almost always 100%. About 60 kilometers of
skiing tracks can be found here. Arosa especially is the place to be
for freestyle skiers and snowboarders. In 2007 the world championships
snowboarding were held here. All of the facilities used then can still
be enjoyed today. Arosa has an avalanche warning system which makes it
safer for free style skiers to go off piste.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
