The climate of Locarno (Switzerland)
Locarno is located on Lake Maggiore. Because of the moderate
temperatures it has a Mediterranean feel. Because Locarno is situated
on the leeward side in a valley temperatures are not what you would
expect from a Swiss city. The trees and plants that grow here remind
you of southern Europe rather than snowy Alps. The medieval city
center is pleasant to stroll through. The music or film festival is
well worth visiting as well. The city is situated in the vicinity of
the Italian border.
