The climate of Zermatt (Switzerland)
Zermatt is located at an altitude of 1,620 meters at the foot of Mount
Matterhorn. This well known skiing resort has many skiing tracks and
skiing schools. The population (4,000) depends on the season. Although
this is a skiing resort sports enthusiasts are also in the right place
during summer. Mountain biking, paragliding and mountaineering are
among the possibilities. Despite its altitude summers are pleasant
with temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius on average because Zermatt is
situated on the south side of the mountain. Zermatt gets less
precipitation than other parts of Switzerland.
